The last time that the supposed Watch_Dogs 3 was leaked, it was implied to have been a cruel April Fool’s Day joke. Only to have it be confirmed not long after by an AI named Sam in Canada (thanks Sam). But since the leak and some speculations by fans of what it could be about, nothing else had been announced, or hinted at… or anything. The project has been under wraps since the non-accidental-accidental leak. But with anything that has some leaks, more leaks are bound to happen. And that’s what went down for the third installment in the series, supposedly named Watch_Dogs Legion.
The leak first came up from TheNerdMag, who had brought up the Mortal Kombat 11 leaks prior. Then, reposted on ResetEra, the leak describes some of the plot, as well as links to an Amazon UK listing that, yes, confirms the upcoming game:
The plot of the game from the leak on ResetEra describes how it’s based in London (from a previous leak), during the post-Brexit era where technology, society, and politics have shaped London’s fortune. While this isn’t stated in the Amazon UK listing, there is something there that’s new for the upcoming game. And that is that players will be allowed to take control of any NPC that’s within the game that you can recruit. Full animations, full voice acting, and unique character traits. That’s… a lot. Especially considering that not only is this an open-world game given its predecessors, but that’s a lot of characters that are up for grabs.
Currently, this is all that’s available for the upcoming Watch_Dogs Legion, but there’s surely more coming in E3 with the Ubisoft presentation during it.
