New Job Listing For Final Fantasy VII Remake Reveals Some Info About Development Progress

Square Enix first announced the Final Fantasy VII Remake back at E3 2015, but has been pretty tight-lipped about the game ever since. Eager fans were hoping to receive some major updates on the title’s progress, since the Final Fantasy series just celebrated their 30th Anniversary, but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. Final Fantasy VII is one of the most notable and beloved game’s of all time, so it’s to be expected that fans will be on edge to receive any news on its development.

However, Square Enix has recently posted a job listing that shares some insight on where the development team currently is in terms of the game’s environment. The listing calls for level planners for Final Fantasy VII Remake who can help organize location development, create level designs for assigned locations, and implement data utilizing Unreal Engine 4. The development team is currently within the brainstorming phase of creating a world in Final Fantasy VII that can conform to modern times. In order to achieve this goal they are looking to add members to the team that will be able to build these levels while also developing ideas for characters for the game. Square Enix wrote this about the current state of the game:

“While Final Fantasy VII Remake’s programs for general functions and contents are being tested within the development team as required, the part about reproducing the original work in high-quality graphics is reaching a satisfactory standard, and we’ve come to the conclusion that in order to meet fan expectations we must increase its quality another step higher. Therefore, in addition to the current members for the Final Fantasy VII Remake development, we must establish a core group that includes level planners, battle planners, designers, engineers, and various types of jobs to tackle on the production of the big title.”
