New Indivisible Trailer From Lab Zero Features Sizzling Combat, Concept Art and a Hiroki Kikuta Soundtrack

Lab Zero has been rather hush about its upcoming Action RPG, Indivisible, save for a few in-development updates posted on its official Indiegogo over the past few months. The Los Angeles, California-based studio’s panel at Anime Expo last Saturday, though, unveiled a new sizzle reel for Indivisible that brings more life to the game than ever before, thanks to a main theme composed by Hiroki Kikuta (Secret of Mana, Seiken Densetsu 3).

Though we don’t get to see much in terms of actual gameplay that we haven’t already seen from Indivisible‘s gameplay demo, we are privy to a bounty of concept sketches, enemies, and vibrant locales that range from lush jungles, to bustling port towns, to imposing cityscapes. We also get to see main character Ajna wield her Spear, Bow and Kusarigama weapons (though many of these animations are still in the process of being fleshed out, as evidenced by their sketch placeholders).

At this early of a development phase, it’s unclear if or how many of these concepts will make it into the final Indivisible release. But they do instill us with hope for the game’s (eventual) release, one that harkens back to RPGs like Valkyrie Profile and exploration platformers like Super Metroid, all while instilling those themes with Lab Zero’s commitment to nuance and appreciation of classic animation.

Indivisible is set to release some time in 20187 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. You can visit its official site here, and follow its Twitter here.
