New God Of War Details Released

Perhaps the best game at E3 this year: God of War is set to return to the big stage in an even bigger way. It seems the franchise has reinvented itself in a new and refreshing way, they have veered from the over drawn formula its past titles have shown and taken pages from games like The Last of Us to deliver a new GOW experience. With all of that said, gamers have been given new and exciting details of the hotly anticipated game.

God of War director Cory Barlog shared new game details in an interview with the popular online web series The Know. In the interview, immense details were discussed about the game along with the inspiration of the art as well as the fresh direction the game is taking. Check out the interview below:

Barlow said that the main character Kratos is looking for some sort of redemption, and the new games theme and story follow that motif. Kratos is no longer looking into the past but rather going forward into the future.

The scale of GOW has always been “Godly” but the new game takes this and ramps it up to a level  that is almost incomprehensible. The giant bosses the franchise is known for will be even bigger, Cory Barlog also mentioned that players will have moments where as many as 100 enemies will be on screen at one time, which is something chaotic and well worth playing.

The dynamic of Kratos’s son will also fit into the gameplay in an “Ellie” way from The Last of Us. He will be used to interact with the environment and combat. It was also confirmed that he will be an intricate part of puzzle solving.

All of these changes have GOW fans all around the world salivating at the opportunity of playing this game in the near future. It is a franchise that people expected not to reinvent itself and stick to the same formula that it always has, but under its new direction, it seems God of War is back in a new way and here to stay for a very long time.

Enjoy the chaos.
