New Gears Of War 4 DLC Adds Ugly Christmas Sweaters and More

Yes, you did indeed read the title of this article correctly, Gears of War 4 will be having a holiday event, and it will include ugly Christmas sweaters for you to wear. Starting on the 16th, Microsoft added a plethora of new content for the holidays as well as a new snowball fight multiplayer mode.

By picking up the “Gearsmas” content, players will have a chance to collect all of the 28 pieces of themed content, which includes some seriously ugly sweater armor for JD, Kair, and the Swarm Drone.

For 400 credits, or about 99 cents, you can get your hands on the a pack. Each pack will include one bounty and two items from the list below.

  • 3 ‘Ugly Gearsmas Armor’ Characters – JD, Kait and Swarm Drone
  • 4x Gingerbread Weapon Skins
  • 4x Festive Tree Weapon Skins
  • 4x Snowman Weapon Skins
  • 4x JD Wrapping Paper Weapon Skins
  • 4x Kait Wrapping Paper Weapon Skins
  • 4x Swarm Wrapping Paper Weapon Skins
  • 1 Commemorative Gearsmas Emblem

If you’re more into free content, then you’ll be happy to hear that for the first time, Gears of War 4 will be seeing a timed reward. This reward will be a Ice Boomshot skin and can be picked up on December 27th by simply logging into the game. In addition to all the themed items you can pick up, there will also be  a new game mode, Snowball Fight.

Snowball Fight is a brand new special event that features the first custom holiday weapon for Gears of War 4 – the Snowshot. This icy looking Boomshot that fires Snowballs which, in true Gears fashion, still gibs enemies! The mode is a variant on TDM where everyone starts with the Snowshot and 2 Snowballs. Just like real-life Snowball Fights, you’ll have to scramble to pick up more Snowballs when you’re out!

Microsoft was nice enough to include a trailer of all the Christmas goodness.

 

In addition to Snowball Fight, players can also play Crossplay Versus for a limited time during the holidays. During Gearsmas, players on both Xbox One and Windows 10 will be able to play together with squads of up to 5.

Gearsmas will be ending December 28th, so if you haven’t picked up a copy f the game, Microsoft is offering it at 35% off.
