It’s been 15 years since Halo: Combat Evolved graced television screens for the original Xbox in 2001. Celebrating the 15th anniversary, developer 343 Industries is holding a livestream event along with other events on Tuesday, November 15, which is 15 years to the date that Halo: Combat Evolved was released.
One part of the celebration will be a Twitch livestream that will take place at 3:43 PM PT.
343 said in its newest blog post that:
During the jam-packed show we’ll have a special walkthrough of the Halo Museum, talk Halo Wars 2 with Dan Ayoub & Max Szlagor, hear about some of the team and community’s fondest Halo memories, play Halo 5 with fans, talk HCS with Tashi & Strongside, take a look at the upcoming Halo Loot crate with James, answer your tweets and whatever else we end up doing when we inevitably stray from script.
343 is also releasing an “Anniversary Throwback” playlist for Halo 5 featuring remade maps from Halo: Combat Evolved in Halo 5 with the Forge tools and some “free stuff.”
“What kind of birthday party would it be without goodie bags for attendees!? I don’t want to spoil the surprise but I think you’ll dig it,” 343 said of the free stuff that it will be giving out to players of Halo 5.
There will also be DLC available for Halo 5, 343 revealed.
Plans are being made for some big holiday playlist updates as well as the release of the next big Halo 5 content update. I know you’re eager for those juicy details and we look forward to being able to share more soon.
The newest free expansion came in September, called Anvil’s Legacy. It is the ninth expansion. Previous expansions are The Battle of Shadow and Light which was released in November 2015 , Cartographer’s Gift in December 2015, Infinity’s Armor in January, Hammer Storm in February, Ghosts of Meridian in April, Memories of Reach and Hog Wild, both released in May and Warzone Firefight in June.
