Civilization VI is getting some new leaders and civilizations in the Vietnam and Kublai Khan pack which is set to release within the next week. More specifically, in this DLC there will be a new leader, civilization, game mode, and more. Civilization VI was released over four years ago, but with the continuous DLC additions, the game keeps receiving new and fresh ways to play.
We will see the introduction of Kublai Khan as a new leader choice for the Chinese and Mongolian civilizations; a leader who is described as “jolly but ruthless.” It seems that his introduction will allow for new choices to be made during gameplay events. This DLC will also include the new, playable civilization of Vietnam. While the developers have been relatively quiet about the new civilization, there have been some details released. Firaxis has confirmed that Vietnam will be a “culture and terrain” type civilization, similar to Sweden and the Kongo. The Vietnam leader has not been announced yet, but it will be someone that is defined by “bravery, guerrilla tactics, and deadly temper.” More details will be revealed soon in a First Look.
Some additional gameplay aspects added in the Vietnam and Kublai Khan pack will be a new type of district. This will be the tenth district and is called the Preserve. This new district will allow for Grove and Sanctuary buildings to be built inside it in order to boost the appeal of the surrounding tiles. There will also be a new game mode called Monopolies and Corporations. For this, players will focus on creating industries and farming resources for the purposes of stimulating a robust economy.
The Vietnam and Kublai Khan pack will come out on January 28, a little over a week from now. This pack will also be a part of the New Frontier Pass which is set to come out sometime in March. Civilization VI is available for $59.99 on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Android, iOS, PC, and Mac.
