New Details Revealed About The Elder Scrolls Online Update

Although we aren’t getting a full Elder Scrolls entry for quite some time, the latest update for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited should keep fans plenty busy and entertained.

Update 11 will be available August 1 for PC and Mac, and on August 16 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It’s jam-packed with two new Argonian-themed dungeons, the Style Parlor, Costume Dyeing, and a plethora of cosmetic and “quality of life” additions. Console players will also finally receive text chat.

The Shadows of the Hist DLC Dungeon Pack will be available for 1,500 crowns in the ESO Crown Store, or free for players with an active ESO Plus membership. It includes two new four-player dungeons – Ruins of Mazzatun and Cradle of Shadows. In Cradle of Shadows, “players join the Argonians of the Dark Brotherhood in their battle against rogue assassins threatening to hurl all of Black Marsh into bloody chaos.” The group dungeon features both Normal and Veteran modes, along with three new item sets, “challenging” new achievements with an appearance reward, and a new monster mask set. Ruins of Mazzatun features similar rewards, as players venture into the “Puzzle City” to overthrow slavelords and free their helpless victims.

The Style Parlor allows players to purchase Appearance Change and Race Change tokens in the Crown Store, which lets players alter their appearance in the game. Some of the possible changes include hair styles and colors, adornments, face and body markings, facial features, eye color, age, body and face shape, and even your avatar’s speaking voice. Name Change tokens are also for purchase, along with “a bounty of new hair styles, adornments, and markings.”

ESO Plus members will be able to dye their equipped costume and hats “using dyes unlocked via achievements.” Since they’re saved separately for each character, the same costume or hat can be dyed differently for each player’s different characters. Non-members can use Dye Stamps, one-time-use items pre-loaded with specific colors that can be applied to a player’s active costume and hat. New Dye Stamps will appear in the Crown Store every week.

The base game patch for everyone who owns The Elder Scrolls Online includes a vast number of changes and improvements, along with the above-mentioned console text chat, improved face effects and animations, four new crafting styles (Akatosh, Dark Brotherhood, dro-m’Athra, and Minotaur), Champion Point cap increase, and the ability to trade bind-on-pickup items to group members in dungeons and Trials.
