Netflix already has a large games section since it began in 2021, and they have now announced that they will be adding two more to their list with plans for a third in 2023. Spongebob: Get Cooking is now available for players in the Netflix games section.
Spongebob: Get Cooking was released in 2020 and developed by the well-known company Tilting Point. The game is being adapted to move into the Netflix gaming section. In the game, players are tasked with cooking food for different characters, and they also have the opportunity to explore the different areas of Bikini Bottom. The game is based on one of the longest-running television shows on Nickelodeon, Spongebob Squarepants. Players who are familiar with the show will likely recognize various parts of the game that is now exclusive to Netflix subscribers.
The next game that is coming to the service is Narcos: Cartel Wars Unlimited. This game, like Spongebob: Get Cooking, is based on a hit television show, Netflix’s Narcos. Players take the role of a kingpin and are tasked with growing their cartel by gaining more power and a better reputation. The game is expected to come to Netflix sometime in the fall, but there is yet to be an official release date for the game.
The third game that is coming to Netflix is currently unannounced but is said to be coming to the service in 2023. The game is also being published by Tilting Point and is expected to be developed by Emerald City Games. Like the previous two games, the third is going to be based on a television series, specifically one that is available on Netflix.
Each of these games will be open to Netflix subscribers through their app, where they already have a selection of over 30 games available. Netflix is hoping to include only games that include no advertisements, microtransactions or hidden fees. While the games section of Netflix is still young, they are continuing to expand the available games to those who wish to play.
