Among the many new reveals at G-Star 2023 was a new trailer from one of NCSoft’s upcoming games.
Project M, an untitled game initially revealed back in June 2022, is a hotly anticipated interactive movie game similar to Quantic Dream’s titles like Detroit: Becoming Human. Project M aims to give players a cinematic experience filled with supernatural battles, drama, and choices that have a lasting effect on its plot.
Despite the game’s primary focus on its story, its latest trailer showcases a variety of gameplay outside of quicktime events including some stealth and action sections. Additionally, it also showed a new and beautifully rendered theme park environment. That said, according to NCSoft, this game mainly focuses on quickTime events to progress the story so it’s unclear how often these alternative gameplay sections will appear.
NCSoft is widely known for its ambitious massively multiplayer online role-playing games (MMORPG) like the Guild Wars series and Blade and Soul. Branching out into a wildly different game has many fans tentatively but eagerly waiting to see how this game might turn out.
Currently, Project M has yet to announce a release date or confirm its release platforms. With how ambitious this project is evolving to be, and its lack of a title, it’s clear there’s still much work to do before it can be released.
Additionally, NCSoft revealed a new trailer for its Sci-Fi MMO Project LLL, showing a forest environment alongside combat from various vehicles and jetpacks. For Project LLL, NCSoft announced a 2024 release date for modern consoles and PC.
