The official track listing for NBA 2K17 was released on NBA 2K’s official Facebook page. The NBA 2K franchise always puts lot of weight into the curation and selection of the music that goes into their games, using people like LeBron James, Pharrell Williams, and Jay Z to curate the soundtracks in the past. Last year the soundtrack for NBA 2K featured playlists created by the likes of the legendary DJ Premier, the minimalist hit-maker DJ Mustard, and the modern pop culture icon DJ Khaled. Keeping up with the 2K tradition, NBA 2K17 is using famous musicians to build their track listing. NBA 2K17 features curation from radio rock band Imagine Dragons, Juno Award winning producer Grimes, and OVO producer/Drake’s right hand man, Noah “40” Shebib. Considering the music these artists create is so stylistically different, it makes sense that they would be putting together such huge and varied collection of tracks, 50 in total. The soundtrack contains everything from Drake to Jaime XX to the 1975. The entire soundtrack can be listened to in the form of a Spotify playlist which can be found here. The entire track listing for NBA 2K17 can be viewed below.
This latest installment in the NBA 2K franchise will also include playable national teams such as the Australian and American Olympic teams. NBA 2K17 also includes the 1992 Dream Team, with even the ever elusive “Round Mound of Rebound”, Charles Barkley being part of the game. This year’s NBA 2K cover will feature Indiana Pacers forward Paul George and the “Black Mamba”, Kobe Bryant for the Legend edition of the game.
NBA 2K17 is set for release on September 20th on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3. NBA 2K17 is currently available for pre-order. The various reward tiers for the different pre-order versions of the game can be seen here. Players who pre-order the game also get the perk of being able to play NBA 2K17 4 days early, on Friday September 16th, a feature that 2K has used before in order to build up pre-order sales.
