It’s been awhile since we last got a look at Naughty Dog’s highly anticipated sequel The Last of Us: Part II. The most recent piece of news that we got about the game came from The studios Vice President Neil Druckman when he said last month that the shoots for Joel and Ellie has both been completed.
Besides for that we’ve been almost in the dark about where exactly the project is within its development process and when we could maybe expect the game to be complete. However the game’s recently Co-director Anthony Newman went to Twitter to announce that Naughty Dog is currently looking to hire people in order to help “close out” the exclusive title. This may come as an exciting announcement to some fans as this could mean that The Last of Us: Part II’s development period might finally be nearing its end.
Although this might mean that this last stage of development for the game might be finished so quickly, it is refreshing to know that the studio is making headway to finish the title. This time of year we’d usually be expecting to see the game relatively soon but since Sony isn’t coming to E3 this year, we don’t exactly know the next time we will get our fresh view at the game. Currently there is no release date or window laid out for the sequel either.
There was a little incident where a satirical website made joke about the game being released sometime this year but that was quickly flushed out by Naughty Dog when they commented that they will be ready to share more information on new things when they are ready. If the game is finally nearing the end of development, then it might not be long before Naughty Dog decides to finally show more.
