Narrated Gameplay Trailer Reveals New Worlds In The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum

The world of Middle Earth has never been seen like this before. Back in 2019, the game The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum was announced by game developers at Daedalic Entertainment. Ever since then, fans have been getting glimpses and snippets of information about the game via series of trailers and announcements. However, on July 6th, 2021, PlayStation and Daedalic Entertainment released a new narrated gameplay trailer that revealed the worlds and characters that will be featured in their new game.

The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum will take place during the previously nondescript period of time in which Gollum is searching for The One Ring. Players will get the chance to play as the notorious Stoor as he crosses new lands and meets new friends and foes on his extensive journey to recover his preciousss.

The gameplay trailer features narration by game developer Daedalic Entertainment and highlights the primary aspects of gameplay alongside images and short clips of in-game footage.

From his time in the slave pits of the Dark Tower to his stay with the elves of Mirkwood, Gollum will creep, sneak, and trick his way past faithful, detailed environments, some of which have never been seen before in such detail.

The gameplay trailer also reveals more about the style of gameplay The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum will focus on.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is a cinematic stealth action / adventure. It mixes stealth and parkour gameplay and really leverages Daedalic’s expertise in crafting engaging stories.

Based on the footage available, Gollum appears to be a mostly open-world game in which players will maneuver Gollum through a series of obstacles and foes in order to get to their next mapped-out destination. From climbing along Elven cliffsides to crouching beneath Orc soldiers, Gollum’s once-unknown adventures will be revealed in stunning digital graphics.

And some especially exciting news for long-time The Lord Of The Rings fans. This new game will feature several previously unseen characters from the novels, including the Mouth of Sauron and the King of the Elves Thranduil. The game developers have also highlighted that, “We’ve been highly faithful to the descriptions of the book…” meaning players will have a first-time look into the new official character designs.

The Lord Of The Rings: Gollum will release sometime in 2022 for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. So keep your eyes and ears open for new announcements and the call of The One Ring.
