Nanotale: Typing Chronicles Is A Typing RPG Coming Later This Year

Some games have interesting, odd, or unique mechanics that translate into their gameplay as epic storytelling or combat. Nanotale: Typing Chronicles is one of these games that is on the horizon of 2019. Developers at Fishing Cactus have implemented a system in Nanotale where everything is meant to be controlled from a keyboard in a RPG fashion. Movement, combat, and the menu are all controlled through typing.

Players will take control of a young archivist named Rosalind who is exploring a fading world’s mysterious, which will serve as the spiritual successor to Epistory, another game in Typing Chronicles franchise. All of the game’s texts and dialogue is localized in seven different languages and supports many different keyboard layouts. While the concept of typing to play a game sounds simple, the developers explain that talking to other characters in the game, solving puzzles, using magical powers, and fighting head on with enemies are all done through typing. Check out some of the most recent gameplay in progress:

Nanotale will center around a group called the Archivists, who have been tasked with studying as well as catalogue the many secrets of the planet. The biggest mystery that must be solved is why the Tree of Life is singing the Final song, bring the world into a state of death. No one is able to do anything about this event, all the Archivists can do is take down this history. Rosalind will start her adventure by taking on her initial mission of analyzing rocks and plants, only to be confronted by a more complicated task. In one of their latest informative updates on the status of the game following the last teaser, Fishing Cactus shows even more examples of animations of an enemy type and how the fire spell may appear in game along with some bonus concept art for Rosalind.

Nanotale: Typing Chronicles is slated to release at some point during 2019’s third quarter on the Steam Store.
