It was later released on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, increasing its reach and becoming a favorite among gamers. The game received positive reviews, with The Punished Backlog describing it as “a heartfelt, entertaining homage to the detective genre.” Adventure Game Hotspot awarded it 95% score, calling it “a ton of fun” and “a perfect replacement for a family movie night. Players follow a recently divorced detective duck named Eugene McQuacklin as he is tasked with unraveling the mystery of a missing salami while dealing with his bread addiction. Soon mobile gamers will also have the chance to join Eugene McQuacklin on his adventure. Happy Broccoli Games, announced that the game was coming to mobile at the Future Games Show Summer Showcase in 2024, and has since revealed that its set to release to app stores on April 9, 2025.

The game’s publisher, Snapbreak Games, announced that Duck Detective: The Secret Salami had finally opened for pre-registration yesterday via a post on the company’s official X (formerly Twitter account). It declared that Duck Detective was “now up for Pre-registration on iOS and Google” and described the it as an “amazing puzzle and detective game.” Snapbreak Games made sure to link the Happy Broccoi Games account in the X post, careful to credit the game’s developers.

Anyone interested in playing Duck Detective: The Secret Salami on the go can pre-register for the game on via the App Store or Google Play Store. After that, they need only to wait for the game’s official launch on April 9. The game will be free to download, providing its initial levels until an in-app purchase is eventually required to unlock the complete experience.
