MultiVersus was set to release on August 9, but now Warner Brothers has announced that MultiVersus Season 1, along with their new characters Rick and Morty, will be delayed indefinitely. The decision to delay the release comes just days after the open beta began on July 26. At the beginning of the open beta, MultiVersus initially had to shut down and go into maintenance mode to repair the servers. Although many fans were not happy about this, maintenance mode during the beta was not seen as a cause for concern about the game being delayed.
The MultiVersus Twitter account made the announcement over a string of tweets. They began by thanking the players who have tuned in for the open beta, saying “A big thank you to everyone playing MultiVersus. It’s exciting to see so many players enjoying the game and the launch of the Open Beta is just the beginning.” Following this tweet, the account announced the decision to delay the official release of the game.
Following this tweet was confirmation that the account will keep fans updated on the new release date, saying that “We’ll let you know the timing as soon as we can. We appreciate your patience & enthusiasm and look forward to unveiling Season 1 very soon!”
Although fans may be disappointed about the delay of MultiVersus Season 1, Warner Brothers will surely be working to make the game exciting and fun for their players.
