MultiVersus Open Beta Release Dates And Iron Giant Gameplay Released

After the success of the MultiVersus closed alpha, the release dates for its long awaited open beta were finally revealed. In press release on July 14, 2022, Warner Bro’s announced that the MultiVersus Open Beta will launch on July 26 and as of now, no official end date has been announced. Once the open beta begins, MultiVersus is planned to receive updates including new characters, maps, seasonal content in the months ahead. The open beta will support full cross-play and utilize “server-based rollback netcode for robust online competition.” Early Access for the open beta will begin July 19, available to anyone who participated in the MultiVersus Closed Alpha and those who earned a code by Twitch Drops.                                                            

The MultiVersus Open Beta include eight different maps and introduce a variety of modes for players to enjoy including 2 vs. 2 team-based cooperative mode, 1 vs. 1 matches, 4-player free-for-all, co-op vs. A.I. matches, custom online lobbies, The Lab (practice mode), tutorials, as well as local play matches that support up to four competitors.  Alongside the open beta announcement, a new MultiVersus Gameplay trailer was revealed, featuring a first look at Iron Giant who will be playable starting July 19.

Along with Iron Giant other characters such as Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn (DC); Shaggy and Velma (Scooby-Doo); Bugs Bunny the Tasmanian Devil and others will be available immediately when the open beta begins while other characters will be unlocked. The MultiVersus open beta will be available for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One consoles, and PC for free. With the promise of new content in the following months it will be exciting to see new speculation within the open beta and outside of it, who knows what characters and locations Warner Brothers might add?
