More Details on Battlefront II

The official announcement of Star Wars Battlefront II at last week’s Star Wars Celebration 2017 has got many fans excited for the new sci-fi shooter, and luckily for them, the developers have been sharing some new details on the game through Twitter.

Associate design director Dennis Brannvall confirmed that, just like the 2015 game, Battlefront II will be using dedicated servers for online multiplayer. He also mentioned that the new class system won’t have quite as much freedom as the Star Card system that was used in the previous game. Brannvall wanted to make it clear, though, that, “You can definitely customize your trooper class quite drastically to suit your playstyle.” Instead of using the Star Cards to build your own loadouts, it appears the game will be using a class system similar to Battlefield for setting players apart, allowing for some individual customization.

Brannvall also briefly mentioned the new reloading system, saying it will be a combination of cooldown and reloading, as opposed to the 2015 game that had players overheating their blasters and waiting for the cooldown period.

Game designer Christian Johannesen also confirmed on Twitter that the Deluxe Edition weapons and content won’t remain exclusive to players who purchase it, and regular players can unlock it just by playing the game. This is a great relief to players who wanted to get the Elite Trooper armor but didn’t have the cash for it. Keep in mind, though, that the Deluxe Edition players will still be the only ones who get to play the game three days early.

Gamers looking for more big reveals will probably have to wait till E3 in June. Star Wars Battlefront II launches on November 17 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
