Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault Announced For 2025 Release Date

Publisher 11 bit studios and Developer Digital Sun have announced their rogue-like action rpg Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault. The sequel is set for release on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2025.

Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault offers a blend of rogue-like gameplay, dungeon crawling and shop management. The setting is a mysterious dimension in the village of Tresna; you’ll assume the role of Will, a merchant. Core gameplay elements involve combat, avoiding traps, and obtaining relics. Your shop serves as your home base and here you can exchange your loot earned. Wccftech shares that you can haggle to get the best prices, assist your customers and obtain decorations for your shop. Profits go towards upgrading gear and your store. The game will span across three unique dimensions.

“The original Moonlighter was a pivotal moment for us, marking the growth of Digital Sun as a team,” said Digital Sun CEO Javier Gimenez in a press release shared by Gematsu. “Five years on, Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault showcases everything we’ve learned along the way. We’re channeling all our craftsmanship into creating a game that’s not just better, but brimming with even more charm in every detail.”

One notable feature of this release is the soundtrack which is being composed by Chris Larkin of Hollow Knight Fame. Both the gameplay loop and graphical style have been revamped from the original Moonlighter. Hardcoregamer notes that footage from the announcement trailer shows the game has shifted from a top down pixel art style to an isometric 3D style as seen in Cataclismo, another one of Digital Sun’s titles.

The efforts of Digital Sun are made apparent with an interwoven feature system; With the release date announced and the next year arriving fans eagerly await the next update for news on the sequel to a beloved game.
