Monster Hunter World: Iceborne released for consoles this past September, and it quickly became another successful piece in the franchises storied history. We knew that the add-on would come to its PC counterpart eventually, but now we have an official date; January 9, 2020. Considering that it’s only a few months removed from the console’s release, this isn’t too bad of a wait for those patient enough with their PC’s.

We also got a brand new trailer which shows the game running at a brisk 60 FPS with a 4k resolution. Similar to the Red Dead Redemption II PC trailer, Capcom gives us many reasons to play through Iceborne at least a second time. With the stunning snowy environments to the monsters themselves, the presentation is chalked full of aesthetically pleasing moments. The PC iteration will also include high texture pack support, uncapped framerates, ultra-wide screen support, DirectX 12 support, and improved keyboard and mouse controls.
Iceborne has already become a successful expansion for Capcom, as it shipped over 2.5 million units in the first week alone when it released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. We can only imagine those numbers growing exponentially when it launches for PC early next year. In addition, the first DLC for Iceborne will be coming sometime after launch on PC. This consists of the devilish monkey, the Rajang, that can electrocute everything in sight. It’s free to download for the console owners, and it will be free for PC owners as well.
Iceborne will also have a special Deluxe Edition that comes packed with in game goodies. This includes the Silver Knight armor set, three new gestures, two sticker sets, one face paint, one hairstyle, and a ton of new decor for your room. On top of that, Capcom is also bundling both Monster Hunter World and Iceborne as one package, dubbed “The Master Edition” which also releases on the same day for PC.
Monster Hunter Iceborne will launch on January 9, 2020 through Steam, and is available now for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. You can check out the PC trailer here:
