During the Tokyo Game Show, Capcom announced a collaboration with Sega for the action role-playing game, Monster Hunter Rise. The collaboration will involve Sonic The Hedgehog as a celebration of the series’ 30th anniversary. No details currently on what the event will entail but it will be released in November.
Hope we haven’t been too slow on this one. Congrats, @Sonic_Hedgehog, on an amazing 30 years!

The other collaboration announced during Capcom’s Monster Hunter Spotlight stream was with Ghosts ‘n Goblins: Resurrection. The player will now be able to play an event in order to obtain gear that will transform them into the hero of Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Arthur. All owners of Monster Hunter Rise can start the quest on Oct. 29.
As with our past collaborations, you can expect to see some custom flair this time too. I’ll tell you one cool thing: your throwing kunai transform into Arthur’s iconic throwing LANCES!
A Steam version of Monster Hunter Rise was also confirmed by Capcom during the stream. PC players will be able to play the game in 4k resolution, with high-resolution textures, high framerates and with optimized keyboard and mouse controls. The Steam version is set to be released on January 12, 2022. But if players want to test out the game beforehand a free demo will be accessible on October 13, 2021.
Having the game on multiple platforms will help to expand sales along with awareness of the series. But with different versions comes the question of whether the game will have cross-play and cross-save features. Capcom posted a survey for fans to take which included a question asking if including these two features would increase the likelihood of purchasing a Steam copy.

If enough voices are heard, Nintendo Switch and Steam players may be able to transfer their save files between the two systems while also hunting monsters together online.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, the game’s next massive expansion, is set to release simultaneously on PC and Switch in Summer 2022.
