Momocon 2018 is already a pretty stacked event. To make the part-gaming convention even more exciting, tons of special guests, such as Suda51, Warren Spector, and several voice talents will be making guest appearances at this year’s Momocon.
On the Saturday of the event, Suda51, founder of Grasshopper Manufacture, and the creative mind behind cult classics such as The Silver Case, Killer7, and No More Heroes, will be hosting a panel alongside Nippon Ichi Software America. It is stated that during the panel, Suda51 will be making a special announcement. “This year, we at Grasshopper Manufacture are celebrating our 20th year in the business. We are honored to have been invited here to Momocon for such an auspicious year,” says Suda51 in a press release. “On May 26th, from 7:00pm, I will be holding a panel on the theme of ‘20 years of game development.’ I’m really looking forward to seeing everyone in Atlanta at the event, as well as to my first time in Atlanta.”
No further details are currently known about this announcement. Speaking of game developers, Warren Spector, the creative mind and producer behind titles such as Deus Ex, System Shock, and Ultima, will be a guest speaker at the convention.
Popular voice actors from across many different games will also have guest speaker appearances. Troy Baker (Joel, The Last of Us), Nolan North (Nathan Drake, Uncharted), and Doug Cockle (Geralt, The Witcher) will be present at Momocon 2018.
Blizzard will have a significant presence at the event as well. The company will host two different panels: a Heroes of the Storm panel and an Overwatch panel. While the Heroes of the Storm panel will be mostly about the game, the Overwatch panel will feature a healthy amount of voice actors from the game to interact with fans. Making appearances will be Jen Cohn (Pharah), Lucie Pohl (Mercy), Christopher Parson, Crispin Freeman (Winston), Elise Zhang (Mei), and Fred Tatasciore (Soldier 76).
Additionally, a decent chunk of the cast behind Dragon Ball FighterZ will have their own panel at the event. During the panel, they will be talking about their involvement with the game as well as their work on the anime, Dragon Ball Z. Among the cast that will be at the panel are Christopher Sabat (Vegeta, Piccolo), Sean Schemmel (Goku, King Kai), Kyle Hebert (Gohan, Narrator), Josh Martin (Majin Buu), and Chris Rager (Hercule/Mr. Satan).
MomoCon will take place on May 24 and will run through the weekend until May 27 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
