Next-gen action MMORPG Chrono Odyssey has received an all new announcement trailer. Gematsu reports it’s developer Chrono Studio alongside it’s publisher Kakao Games will also be hosting a closed beta test for PC in June and that players can sign up on the game’s Steam page.

Chrono Odyssey is set in the fantasy world of Setera, a world in a perpetual conflict with a cosmic being known as the Void. Players will assume the role of a member of the Sentinel Organization, tasked with solving the fractured timeline and battling against the Void. You will utilize your artifact the Chronotector to stop time in battle or rewind it.

Shared by Gematsu executive producer on Chrono Odyssey, Sangtae Yoon said in a press release “Chrono Odyssey represents years of passion and innovation,” and that “This closed beta is our invitation to players worldwide to help shape the future of this ambitious project. We cannot wait to play alongside you, experience the story, and see what each and every one of you think of our game.”

Chrono Odyssey’s time rewind and freeze function allows you to dodge fatal attacks, chain combos and outmaneuver enemies. The title features six classes: Swordsman, Ranger, and Berserker with specialized skill trees and play styles. Chrono Odyssey features a seamless open world with dynamic weather, day-night cycles, and shifting terrain through temporal rifts. Developer Chrono Studio promises “near-instantaneous world transitions” within the Unreal 5 Engine.

Chrono Studio aims to release a true triple-a open world MMORPG experience. The combat is drawing heavy inspiration from the Souls series while implementing the unique time shifting mechanic in the Chronotector. All this has been boasted within the Unreal 5 Engine as the developer has emphasized their visual progress on.  Players have been cautiously optimistic, but won’t have to wait much longer for the beta.
