Missile Command: Recharged 2.0 Launches November 1 For All Major Systems

Atari is giving one of their all time another re-release, except this time it’s one of the Recharged entriesMissile Command: Recharged will be getting big update going by the 2.0 moniker and is being treated as a brand new release by Atari. The title is being developed by Adamvision Studios and SneakyBox, both of whom are Recharge veterans, and will include new content as well as brand new gameplay experience with a massive 32-player Challenge mode.

It’s important to note that this is a re-release of the 2020 title Missile Command: Recharged, which launched for mobile devices. This new 2.0 version will essentially be an entirely new title, albeit with the core classic gameplay that Missile Command is known for. After launching six more Recharged titles, Atari has decided to use the experience, as well as the lush amount of content, and reintroduce us to the very first one that started that lineup. One of the biggest additions to 2.0 is the Challenge mode. This new mode adds 32 levels to the title as well as new final boss. The art style and overall aesthetics have also been greatly overhauled, as well as the music which includes a brand new soundtrack by composer Megan McDuffee.

As we mentioned earlier, Missile Command: Recharged originally released in 2020 for mobile devices and cost $2.99. The 2.0 iteration will cost $9.99, but for those who already purchased the 2020 version, you’ll get a 30% discount on the new version. The Recharged version comes with additional features such as the power up items, unlockable upgrades in Arcade Mode, and local co-op multiplayer. On top of that, it also has a global leaderboard for points and completions. Thankfully we won’t have to wait much longer to get our hands on this revamped classic!

Missile Command: Recharged 2.0 will officially launch on November 1 for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/Series S, the Nintendo Switch, PC, and the Atari VCS.
