Class of Heroes developer Zero Div and Acquire’s collaborate together to make a first person dungeon crawler called Mind Zero, which will launch both digitally and retail for PlayStation Vita on May 27. In Mind Zero, you play as characters that fight using mind-controlled powers and you will move between two worlds, the spirit world and Japan’s Saitama Prefecture. The build will have both options of English and Japanese text and voiceovers.
In Mind Zero, you follow the story of Kei, a high school student whose life changed when he forges a bond with a deadly being called a MIND, which changes his life forever as he gains powerful new abilities and can be used as a weapon. Minds are more like parasites, that if you use them more and more, than it will consume more control of your body. You will have control of both your party members and their MINDs as you use them during battles. You must help Kei unravel the secrets of the MIND beings while he and his friends are on the run from the shady government organizations.
In combat, players can fight solo or summon their MIND to fight alongside them, which involves strategy, as you will not only need to protect your party member but your MIND being as well. Using a MIND in battle will drain the players’ MP (magic points or MIND points). As a player you can do various things such as attack, use items, charge, burst and escape the battle. With some of the moves, there will be a charging function, which is like when you take a stance and defend yourself, and you will also gain MP faster. The burst function is like a quick attack, which speeds up to your turn, allowing you to hit sooner, use an item or heal sooner. When your MP is drained, your MIND beings will retreat until you have enough MP to summon them again. Kei is very vulnerable to damage and your MINDs deal more damage when used. So strategy is key when battling and dungeons in Mind Zero have traps like walls that spin your characters around.
