Midair has been in the works for a little under a year and has finally been released May 3 of this year as a free to play for PC. Players manipulate not only land, but also rule the air with their powerful jet packs effortlessly defying gravity. Midair is a first person shooter that takes players out of their comfort zones, and it forces them to utilize the skies to achieve their victory.
The sky is literally the limit as players jump across vast distances to cover great amounts of land. They easily hover in the air as they try to snag banners symbolizing their win or to shoot down an enemy.
While playing, gamers will be on a team of sixteen where they participate in an all out war to sustain their base. Players will be equipped with “automated base defenses, vehicles, and deployable assets to help get the job done.” However, it’s going to take more than weaponry to defend their teams. Midair challenges gamers to truly utilize the barren and wide lands to their advantage such as: getting to higher grounds to ambush enemies that have gotten too comfortable on the lower lands, or to evade attacks by using tall structures to protect themselves from receiving further damage. Midair is an open world type of game, so it allows less camouflage from obscuring buildings and leaving everyone exposed.
Players can even customize their weapons and armor to fit their desires. “Pick your armor based on how fast you need to go and how much damage you need to take. Choose weapons to suit your play style.” But what serves as an even stronger armor is a coordinated team and strategy. To learn more, further expansion on the game’s features can be discovered on Steam. Since the game’s release, it has earned nice amount of positive feedback from the PC community, “Overall, highly recommended. Easy to learn, hard to master.”
While Midair is noted for having a few bugs here and there, it is undeniably a maverick within the many first person shooting games, and is definitely worth trying out. Midair can now be downloaded as a free to play on Steam.
