Microsoft to Focus on PC Games with Windows 10

This September, Microsoft announced the release of Windows 10 operating systems for PC, coming early in 2015. The new system will run on a single platform to service all products, skipping Windows 9 entirely. Where does this leave gaming for Microsoft? Well, Xbox executive, Phil Spencer gave fans a teaser on Twitter, for what’s to come on Windows 10.

No specifics have been made for how the new system will run on Xbox One, but fans can speculate that as stated by Spencer, there will be more information to come in January. In a more recent interview, Spencer commented on how Microsoft lost touch with PC gaming.

“We took gaming very seriously on Windows a while ago,” he said. “I’ll say we, during the [release of the Xbox], we were kind of distributed in what we were thinking about as we were launching Xbox. I’m really committed to us getting back to supporting both Xbox as much as we ever have, and also PC. Because I know my friends and the customers out there that are great gamers on Xbox are also, a lot of them, are great gamers on PC. And I want to make sure that we’re able to offer them the best experience across all the platforms.”
