During the Microsoft Xbox E3 2019 Briefing, studio head for The Coalition, Rod Fergusson, announced details regarding the newest title in the Gears of War saga, Gears 5. For those hoping for a release date, the studio executive revealed that the game will launch this fall, on September 10th. The official “Bound by Blood” Character Trailer, which was also revealed, can be seen below.
Fans can expect two major upcoming summer events leading up to the game’s launch. In July, there will be a Versus Multiplayer Tech Testing showcasing the new Arcade gameplay type. Later, in August, the team will be sharing information regarding character abilities as well as the new Horde mode. Further details will be revealed in the coming months.

The new gameplay style revealed, Escape, will be an infiltration-like mission in which teams of three invade a hive, plant the bomb, and quickly retreat. Players will also be able to customize their very own hives and challenge their friends to play through their creations. Check out the Escape trailer below.
Those who reserve their copy of Gears 5 will receive a special surprise upon launch day. All pre-orders will include a Terminator Dark Fate Character pack. However, the gift is not only reserved for pre-orders. Those who play Gears 5 within the first week of release, before September 16th, will also receive the pack.
