Microsoft Announces Xbox Partner Preview for Wednesday

Microsoft announced an Xbox Partner Preview for Wednesday, March 6 to show off a variety of upcoming games from third-party publishers that are coming to Xbox, Windows, or Game Pass.

The event will begin at 1pm ET/10am PT, and will livestreamed on Xbox’s YouTube channel and Twitch. The Preview was announced with an Xbox Wire blog post, which says that the showcase will run for around 30 minutes and will feature over a dozen trailers.

The livestream will be focused on third party publishers, so Microsoft-owned first party studios like Obsidian or Activision Blizzard will not be showing anything off. The blog post did give some idea of what to expect, as it stated that Capcom, Nexon, and EA would be featured and outlined a few games that would be appearing.

“During Xbox Partner Preview,” it says, “you can learn more about combat and traversal in Tales of Kenzera: Zau, with a video narrated by Abubakar Salim himself, see new gameplay from Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, get a closer look at The First Berserker: Khazan, and other great titles coming to Xbox, Windows, or Game Pass.”

The post promises a tight showcase with new game reveals, release date announcements, and gameplay showcases, with developer interviews releasing simultaneously on Xbox Wire.

This is Xbox’s second digital showcase this year, with January’s Developer Direct showing off MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, and Obsidian’s Avowed.

This will be the first Xbox event since Microsoft announced that they would be changing their business strategy and releasing some of their Xbox exclusives on multiple platforms. Last month, Hi-Fi RushSentimentGrounded, and Sea of Thieves were announced to be coming to Nintendo and PlayStation platforms.

It remains to be seen how exactly that change in strategy will affect Xbox presentations going forward, but it likely won’t have too much of an impact on this Partner Preview, as some of the referenced games are already planned to release across multiple platforms. Either way, we’ll see for sure when the Preview begins this Wednesday.
