Happy Halloween! Or rather, happy week before Halloween.
What better way to get into the spirit of the holiday than to watch a scary movie or play a scary game. Why not do both?
Starbreeze studios, creators of Dead By Daylight, announced yesterday that horror icon Micheal Myers will be joining the game as paid DLC. If you have never heard of the game before it is essentially a classic horror movie in game form. One person plays as the monster/killer and is tasked with tracking down the other players and feeding them to a Lovecraftian horror. The other players must run around a map restarting generators in order to escape.
The trailer shows off everything in the DLC from the new map based on the titular town Haddonfield to the return of Jamie Lee Curtis’s character as a playable survivor and of course the killer himself. According to Polygon, Myers will have his own set of perks, so this is more than just a reskin. We get a more detailed look at his skills on the game’s website. All of his perks are based around being obsessed with one character.
The first is called “Save The Best For Last” and as long as the character you are obsessed with is still alive you won’t have to wait as long between attacks. The next perk, “Dying Light”, gives the remaining survivors a penalty to repair, sabotage and healing speeds if you kill or sacrifice your obsession, but that player receives a bonus to healing and rescuing actions. Lastly, “Play With Your Food” grants Micheal a speed bonus each time he lets his obsession get away after a chase. This movement speed lasts until his next attack.
All in all, this entire DLC will run you about $6.99 and is available today through Steam.
