Metro Exodus Coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S This June

The updated Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition is out right now for PC, and it requires a rather hefty build in order to properly run it. For those who are able to play it on their PC, the game looks absolutely beautiful, especially with the implementation of ray tracing and Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). When 4A Games started this project they also promised to bring these updates to the next generation of consoles. Keeping their word, the studio has announced that Metro Exodus will officially release on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on June 18.

For those looking to play it on the newest home consoles, 4A Games has released a brand new trailer which confirms that the game will indeed run at 60 frames per second and with the much-desired ray tracing enabled with 4K resolution. The sole exception is the Xbox Series S which will be capped at 1080p. The PlayStation 5’s Dualsense controller will also have its haptic feedback utilized in certain situations. 4A Games also revealed that Metro Exodus will release physically on both systems as a “Complete Edition.” This will include the base game, as well as all of the extra content and major expansions.

The game will also be available in digital format through the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store, both of which will have the same content. However, if you already own the game for either platform, then the enhanced upgrades will be completely free to download. Metro Exodus PC Enhanced Edition has only been out for a couple of days, but so far it’s been well received by some publications. It will more than likely have a similar reception for this release since the newest home console generation is well regarded in terms of graphical and processing output. It also helps that each system uses a Solid State Drive (SSD) which means faster loading on all fronts.

Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition will launch on June 18 for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The PC version is available now through Steam, GOG, the Epic Game Store, and the Microsoft Store.
