Mighty No. 9 is still coming out, for realsies.
After suffering a series of delays, the most recent of which was this January when the game was pushed from February 9th to an unspecified launch date. Mighty No. 9 finally has a solid release date.
Yesterday series creator Keiji Inafune took to the game’s site to say that Mighty No. 9 has finally gone gold (ready to be manufactured and sold) and that it will come out on June 21st for the US and Asia. A worldwide release is planned for June 24th.
Inafune took time to apologize to backers who helped fund the game all those years ago and promised that this would be the last delay for Mighty No. 9. Since the game was funded, it was delayed almost fourteen months.
Firstly, I would like to say again how sincerely sorry we are for how long we have kept all of our fans waiting. We are finally able to deliver some long awaited news regarding Mighty No. 9…Therefore the release date we are announcing is set in stone and there will be no further delays for the game.
Even though the June 21st date seems set in stone, if you were looking to play the upcoming Mega Man successor on PS Vita or 3DS, you are out of luck. As Inafune says that those versions of the game will be out at a later date.
Mighty No. 9 will be out on June 21st in US and Asia and June 24th worldwide for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux; with a PS Vita and 3DS version coming at a later date.
