It was revealed last month that, on top of Mewtwo and Lucario, the original three starters would also be receiving the “mega evolution” treatment.
Since then we have seen the reveal of a second mega evolution of Mewtwo, each exclusive to either X or Y. Well now we know that Mewtwo is not the only one to get this treatment, as Charizard X joins it Y counterpart.
Besides the color shift from red and white to black and blue, his type changes to Fire/Dragon. He also gets a new ability called Tough Claws and an attack stat boost, as compared to Y who gets the ability Drought and an increase to its special attack stat.
This news, coupled with Charizard’s popularity among the fans, might make choosing the version of the game they get a much harder choice than before. And the big question on the minds of fans is – will the others be getting second mega evolutions as well?
