Maximum Entertainment AB announced that Maximum Football, a community-driven football sim game, will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Today’s version marks the game’s full 1.0 launch.
While the game was in Early Access on Steam and Xbox Game Preview, the official full launch brings with it a large amount of new content and an official launch trailer. The trailer is cinematic trailer and gameplay trailer that shows the character models in the game. Simultaneously, it advertises the game’s dynasty mode, customization of cleats, stadiums, and even the ability to choose the era the football match takes place.
A press release reveals that Franchise Mode is scheduled for release later this year, and new seasons will continue to be released on schedule. Players, therefore, have a lot to look forward to, particularly with challenges, cosmetics, and gameplay enhancements that will be added.
The 1.0 launch also marks the introduction of Season 3: Golden Era, which is inspired by Football in the 1930s-1940s. The season includes a number of vintage equipment, including uniforms, leather helmets, and classic-era gear. Two new stadiums, known as Old Glory Ground and Victory Park, are also homages to an older era of football.
Releasing with the third season is the season pass, which will have both free and premium content, which will largely be cosmetics that won’t interfere with the game balance. Fields will also now offer the rain and snow feature to make the gameplay more immersive. Simultaneously, the stadium customization has also been updated, giving the player the ability to upload up to nine logos per team.
The game is fully free to play and supported through the community. The CEO of the company, Philippe Cohen, even acknowledged the player base as crucial to developing the game: “We’ve built this game together with our players, and now we’re thrilled to welcome the full console and PC experience to our audience.”
