Mass Effect Andromeda Goes Gold and Released New Weapons Training Video

With the release date getting closer for Mass Effect: Andromeda, BioWare announced that the game had indeed gone gold. For those unaware what this means, the development team has completely finished up the game and its ready for the final stage. To celebrate this, they have released another video in the “Andromeda Initiative” on their Youtube Channel.

The announcement came via twitter where the development team shared the news while adding a nice golden gif. While the game has finished its development, Mass Effect: Andromeda won’t be having a DLC pass, Bioware still plans on making content for the game post release though.

To accompany this tremendous news, they also released a new video on their youtube channel that goes into detail about the different weapons and how players can use them to their benefit.

To start off, there will be the usual four different gun types to choose from; shotguns, snipers, assault rifles, and pistols. What is new however is the fact that according to the video, players will now be able to upgrade their guns with special ammo types other than the ones in the previous games. For instance, the shotguns can now be equipped with laser shells, and the assault rifle with a kind of electric bolt that comes out of it. Pistols will also be able to shoot explosives! Take a look at the video below.

“Welcome to the Andromeda Initiative’s Golden Worlds briefing. Learn about the weaponry you may be called upon to use to secure humanity’s next home. Completion of this briefing contributes to all recruits unlocking exclusive equipment for use in the field.”

What makes me pretty excited is the fact that players will now have access to melee weapons which include an Atari biotic sword, Krogan hammer, or Omni tool blade. While there was some ability to use a melee attack in Mass Effect 3, they seem to have built on that by allowing the melee button to be smashed in combat.

In other Mass Effect news, the game has released videos on combat weapons and skills and combat profiles and squads. Along with this, Cards Against Humanity will be releasing limited edition Mass Effect Expansion as well. Keep an eye out for its March 21st release date, its only 23 days away in case you were wondering.
