Nvidia was gracious enough to allow BioWare’s new game have some face time during its keynote tonight at CES 2017. The gameplay, unlike what was shown at the Video Game awards, showed more combat mechanics and even included the full screen, hud included. That was however, after the little glitch in their live stream. It mostly just added to the stress of not being able to see the Mass Effect goodness.
Prior to the keynote, there were a few pictures leaked showing off more of what was seen at the video game awards. The images surfaced at Game Informer, who then promptly revealed them in the hours before the keynote. One of the pictures shows a possible directive that read “Eliminate the Remnant threat”.
Flynn came out on stage and talked a little about it before the gameplay. The idea began five years ago and since then has come to be the game it is today. There will be larger environments, better character detail, and fresh new story to drive the game forward. The video took us on a loyalty mission for a sub character.
In the gameplay video from CES, the game shows off some amazing distant world landscapes. The lighting is excellent and the frame rate appeared to be flawless. Some new powers of course made their appearance as they were used to relentlessly tear through enemies defenses. While short, the gameplay shows just how much detail went into the game.
Much like the original series, the game will be focused on a single character, and his effort to survive against all odds throughout space. The gameplay video opened with the space ship maneuvering through an asteroid field and into a planets atmosphere before landing. Once there, the brand new skills system was showcased as well all new types of weaponry. The character can be seen using a flamethrower ability out of his hand while taking down some sort of mechanical enemy.
They left us with a destroyed enemy before fading out. Now the long wait begins and on March 21st, gamers can once again explore the Mass Effect Universe.
As previously written earlier today here, Mass Effect: Andromeda has officially received its release date and its coming to a store near you on March 21st. The game will be separate from the previous installments of the game and will have brand new everything. This list includes characters, aliens, gameplay features, story, and much more. As seen in this bit of gameplay, the game will surely live up to the Mass Effect expectations of great play-throughs and many hours spent working toward the perfect ending.
