Marvel’s Midnight Suns Delayed To The Second Half Of 2022

Firaxis Games, developers of Civilization, XCOM, and the upcoming Marvel’s Midnight Suns, have announced that Midnight Suns has been delayed. The game was originally set to be released in March. Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a new tactical RPG set in the darker side of the Marvel Universe, putting you face-to-face against demonic forces of the underworld as you team up with and live among the Midnight Suns, Earth’s last line of defense. Firaxis Games has revealed that Marvel’s Midnight Suns will now be released in the second half of 2022.

Creative Director Jake Soloman and Senior Franchise Producer Garth DeAngelis said “We decided to share that we’ve made the very tough decision to move our launch window to the second half of 2022. We know many fans were looking forward to playing the game originally next spring, and this decision did not come lightly.” Talking about the reasoning for the delay, they said that the team needs more time to make the best game possible. “We believe in our creative vision for Marvel’s Midnight Suns and want to do justice in delivering an unforgettable adventure set in the supernatural side of Marvel,” Soloman and DeAngelis said. “These extra months will be used to add more story, cinematics and overall polish and will be essential in helping us make our vision a reality.”

Marvel’s Midnight Suns features a new battle system that utilizes a card system. Players will use a deck of cards to perform different actions, such as attacking or buffing a teammate. With the card system, players can customize the Hunter and their team with abilities to suit their playstyle. Players can unlock new abilities by developing relationships with the various heroes outside of battle at the Abbey, the hub that players will return to between missions.

Players take on the role of the Hunter, the first customizable original hero in the Marvel Universe and will lead legendary heroes from The Avengers, X-Men, Runaways, and more.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
