Marvel Rivals’ Season 8 Brings Us Devil Dinosaur and Cyclops

He’s finally here! Cyclops is a character that seems to be heavily requested in every Marvel video game, but rarely makes the base roster of any of them. Luckily, NetEase has finally given mutant fans what they want and given us quite the badass introductory preview for the leader of the X-Men.

It’s a very flashy cinematic, and Cyclops’ design looks very cool and yet unique from other Jim Lee inspired designs he’s had in the past. Of course, just because these trailers are cinematics doesn’t mean they don’t accurately reflect what the characters can do. We see that Cyclops is highly mobile, and that his optic blasts can be bounced and even reflected off surfaces, which will likely be a skill of his. We also see him use the force of the blasts to zip around the battlefield more effectively, which will likely also be an ability for him.

But, every Marvel Rivals season comes in pairs, and while players await Cyclops’ release with bated breath, we’ve been given the full gameplay breakdown of the character that’ll be releasing alongside him: Devil Dinosaur.

The partner of Moon Girl, who will be a big background character this season, Devil Dinosaur is a massive vanguard with a Unibeam style left click and a whopping 850 health (which he’ll need, as his head is huge and just begging to get headshot), DD is armed with a rampage style melee as well as a powerful “kidnap” style move to reposition enemies, a shield capable of tanking projectiles, and generally a kit focused around just disrupting the enemy team. His ult gives him a massive overshield and increases his movement speed while buffing his melee and giving him more crowd control, feeding into the frontline linebacker he’s being built up to be.

Between Devil Dinosaur and the previous season’s Black Cat, Marvel Rivals characters are getting more and more creative as times goes by. We can only see what exciting things they do for Scott Summers when he releases later this summer, Devil Dinosaur will be available later this very week on May 15th, 2026!
