Nintendo has unveiled the 14th Nintendo 64 game to be release on the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack. Mario Golf will be making its way to the platform next week on Friday, April 15. The title’s arrival was teased last month in a special overview trailer that also showcased some other upcoming entries for the service. The 1999 title was one of the more underrated Mario spin-off entries, but has stood the test of time and garnered a huge fan following.

Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64 was the very first Mario spin-off with the characters in the Mushroom Kingdom and was developed by Camelot Software Planning. The game features 18 playable characters and six championship courses, making for a rather massive campaign at the time. The most recent entry in the Mario Golf series was 2021’s Mario Golf: Super Rush for the Nintendo Switch. Mario and company have branched out to other genres and sports since then, as well as before with the wildly successful Mario Kart series.
As we mentioned earlier, Mario Golf is just one of many new Nintendo 64 titles being added to the Nintendo Switch Online Service in the past few months. This includes F-Zero X, Paper Mario, and The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. Nintendo has been slowly but surely expanding the library of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion, although they have a long way to go if they’re going to try and match the massive library that is the NES and SNES. The Nintendo Switch Online Expansion is Nintendo’s premier online subscription service and costs $49.99 for an individual membership and $79.99 for a family membership which adds up to eight accounts.
