The long awaited first-person puzzle game Manifold Garden will be releasing later this week on the Apple Arcade. The company behind the game William Chyr Studio initially revealed the game as Relativity back in 2012, with an unknown release date, however, yesterday, a new trailer was released for Manifold Garden placing the release date at October 18th for the Epic Games Store and Apple Arcade. According to Gamespot, Manifold Garden be released to Steam in 2020.
Manifold Garden has players solve a number of different puzzles throughout the world as a cube in order to proceed to the next level. The first-person puzzle game takes place in an almost infinite world space with a number of different obstacles. In Manifold Garden, the key to solving the various puzzles in the world is to understand how gravity works in the game. Gravity can be manipulated in Manifold Garden, players can do so by placing blocks in specific areas in order to change the gravitational pull of other areas. Another mechanic of the game is that players can access certain areas by falling off of the world and ending up on the other side of where they just were.
The trailer shows off a number of interesting locations and mechanics that will be implemented in the game. In one scene, the cube falls off a ledge into a slot and a tree grows and produces another cube. In another scene, the cube enters another slot and a tower rises before the player’s eyes. The player will be able to manipulate a stream in one part of the game as seen in the trailer. The trailer also shows a number of very trippy moments where the world is built right before the players’ eyes. Manifold Garden will release tomorrow for Epic Games Store and Apple Arcade and will be available for Steam sometime in 2020.
