As Madden’s Rating Week continues, EA Sports has now released the information about the top ten running backs in the game! They have already released the top ten receivers and will continue with even more positions throughout the week. Although there are not any running backs in the esteemed 99 club, the list of running backs still includes some of the best players in all of football.
The highest-rated running back in Madden 23 is Derrick Henry of the Tennessee Titans, who will be rated as a 97 in the game. Henry was on a record pace this past season but unfortunately missed a lot of time due to an injury he sustained after just eight games. Despite missing time with his injury, Henry rushed for 937 and 10 touchdowns for the season.
The second highest-rated running back in the game is the Cleveland Browns’ Nick Chubb at a 96 overall. Despite sharing the backfield with Kareem Hunt, Nick Chubb was efficient throughout the entire NFL season. This is his highest rating in a Madden game yet and he could see an increase as the season continues.
Christian McCaffrey will be a 96 overall in Madden 23 and is tied for the second highest-rated running back in the game. McCaffrey is one of the league’s most dynamic running backs since he can both rush and receive the football at any moment. Although McCaffrey has dealt with injuries in recent years, he is one of the most dynamic and exciting players in all of football.
Coming in at the fourth highest-rated running back is Jonathan Taylor at a 95 overall, followed closely by Dalvin Cook at a 94. Jonathan Taylor is a member of the Colts and had a fantastic season in which he ran for 1,811 yards and rushed for 18 touchdowns. Dalvin Cook also had an incredible season for the Minnesota Vikings where he ran for 1,159 yards and 6 touchdowns in just 13 games.
Joe Mixon, Alvin Kamara, and Aaron Jones occupy the next three spots on the list. Mixon is a member of the Cincinnati Bengals and will be rated as a 93 overall after helping lead the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance. Kamara will be a 90 overall and plays for the New Orleans Saints. This past season, Kamara ran for 898 with 4 touchdowns in just 13 games. Aaron Jones is the eighth highest-rated running back at an 89 and will continue playing for the Green Bay Packers this season. Aaron Jones missed a few games with injury this past season but was a key factor in the Packers’ 13-4 regular season record.
The ninth highest-rated running back in Madden 23 is Austin Ekeler of the Los Angeles Chargers, who is listed as an 88 overall. Ekeler was one of the most explosive running backs this past season and will likely help lead the Chargers to a playoff berth in the coming year. Tied with Ekeler for the ninth highest overall is Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott at an 88 overall. Elliot helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to a playoff berth and will be looking to have even more success this coming season.
