M. Bison Stomps His Way into Street Fighter 6 With New Gameplay Footage and Theme

Fighting game fans have been absolutely swamped with news lately, even within separate communities. Capcom’s flagship fighting game, Street Fighter 6, only just recently released Season 2 as well as the fourth Season 1 DLC character Akuma, but it looks like more new things are coming their way, which is a massive surprise considering the previous huge gaps in their content release schedule. Now, by the end of this month on June 26th it looks like we’ll be welcoming the newest member of the Street Fighter 6 roster as well as the first member of the Season 2 DLC lineup, original Street Fighter bad guy M. Bison.

But Bison’s release trailer isn’t all that’s featured, there has also been footage of Bison’s actual gameplay in action, via IGN Japan using high level CPUs to battle it out. CPU mirror matches aren’t the best way to learn the ins and outs of a character before their release, but it’s still a good way to get a feel for the character, as the computer knows what’s plus on block, what moves can confirm into what, etc.

From the first few opening minutes of the match we can tell that Bison’s OD Psycho Crusher is safe on block, and that you can juggle out of his OD Scissors Kick. Not to mention, he has his insane 5mk as a poke as well as his detonation mechanic from Street Fighter 5, and Devil’s Reverse looks to have a few new gimmicks to it as well, though he’s missing his iconic teleport (that nobody ever used, so fair) he did gain a new menacing theme song, give it a listen here:

Many people have been having doubts about Bison (as well as SNK guest characters Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui) as a character in Season 2, but hopefully he proves worthy as an exciting addition to the roster, and hopefully this fast release means that we’ll be getting Street Fighter 6 content at a faster pace than the drip feed we’ve been getting for the past year.
