Little Witch Academia, the popular Netflix-exclusive witch anime from Studio Trigger, has had many additions to its world, first starting out as a short movie and eventually spanning an entire anime series. In February, Bandai Namco Entertainment will let Westerners enjoy an added bit of universe once more with the upcoming ARPG beat-’em-up game, Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time.
The upcoming title, although already having been released in Japan, has not been localized yet for the Americas or Europe. There has been much gameplay released of the game since its original release, November 30, 2017, but those who patiently wait for localized content will not have to wait too long of a gap, thankfully.
Bandai Namco Entertainment states that the game is “a heart-pounding 3D action JRPG beat ‘em up featuring an original storyline carved from the popular anime series by Studio Trigger.” Players will be able to explore the halls of Luna Nova Magical Academy, and many of the main characters featured in the anime will be present in the game. In addition, there will be 3D cutscenes within the game.
The basic premise for Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time goes as follows:
Having been inspired by a famous witch named Shiny Chariot, an ordinary girl named Atsuko “Akko” Kagari enrolls at Luna Nova Magical Academy — a prestigious school for young girls training to become witches. The school will change Akko life and she will meet new friends that will be part of her life and adventure. While the summer holidays are approaching the witches face an inexplicable phenomenon in the Luna Nova caused by seven wonders which has been passed down for several centuries. This will lead them to an adventure to unravel the seven wonders and that will change their lives.
Little Witch Academia: Chamber of Time will be released in the Americas and Europe digitally on Steam for PC, and on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4 on February 20.
