One of the year’s best puzzle-platformer horror titles is getting the next-generation treatment. Little Nightmares II has officially received a newer, and more overhauled version dubbed Little Nightmares II Enhanced Edition, and it’s available right now. This updated entry released today for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and for the PC platform. It boasts several key improvements such as ray traced reflections, interactive particles, improved volumetric shadows, and immersive spatial audio as well as support for 4k resolution.
For those who own the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, you can download the Enhanced Edition as a free upgrade. If you’re playing on the home console, you’ll have the choice between two different mode types. The first is called Beauty Mode, in which the game will run at 30 fps while delivering a brisk 4k resolution. The second one is Performance Mode, which locks the gameplay at 60 fps and displays it at a dynamic resolution of up to 4k. PC players will be able to adjust any of these options depending on their overall build.
Little Nightmares II just released this past February, and was generally well received thanks to the excellent combination of the puzzle-platforming mechanics and the overall horror element. Despite being the second entry in the series, the story makes it a prequel to the first game, Little Nightmares, which launched in 2017. The former sold more than 1 million units within its first month of launching, and it’s more than likely that those numbers will increase due to this newer Enhanced Edition.
Little Nightmares II: Enhanced Edition is available now for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/Series S, and PC.
