Lenovo Legion Go Handheld Leaked

It looks like another handheld console has been leaked, and this time its from Lenovo.

This comes from Dexerto who posted the leaked images of the Lenovo Legion Go from Windows Central Report.  This new little handheld is apparently in the works after being scrapped previously.  The previous handheld, according to Dexerto was called the Lenovo Legion Play, a small handheld that was capable of light gaming, as well as streaming from Logitech’s G Cloud software.

This time now, Lenovo is back with its plans for a handheld console, which takes inspiration from the Nintendo Switch, with the rear kick/flip stand, just like the Switch OLED model fitted on the back of the screen, and fully removable controllers.  Dexerto also notes from Windows Central that one of the “numchuks” which they’re being called, have a trackpad on them, similar to the Steam Deck.  Windows Central explains that the device “looks notably thicker than the ASUS ROG Ally…The reverse of the device is ergonomically cut, with a large ventilation grill for heat dispensation, complete with a much-needed kickstand that you can only get on an ASUS ROG Ally or Steam Deck using addons and mods.”

The screen is another unique talking point.  Mentioned previously in Windows Central’s past reports, it appeared that the device came with a 7-inch screen, but with the new leaked images, it appears to be an 8-inch screen, giving it the advantage over some competition such as the Steam Deck and ROG Ally. For specs, no one knows what this device has inside. Dexerto suggests that the Legion Go might have an AMD 7040 chip, noting the 7840U processors of the AYANEO and the custom Z1 of the ROG Ally (which is similar in performance).

If I had to predict what’s in this device, most likely a 7040 chipset, just like the AYANEO and running Windows 11 due to that trackpad on the controllers.  The biggest advantage though is that 8-inch screen.

So far, all this is just rumors, and I would take these leaks wih a grain of salt, but the way it looks right now, the Lenovo Legion Go is shaping up to be a good contender in the world of handheld portables, and with Lenovo’s network and reputation, it’s going to play a role in the product’s success.
