Killer Bean Game Trailer Released

You read that title right.  A Killer Bean game.

On Saturday, the Twitter account Real_KillerBean, who is the developer of the game, and the creator of Killer Bean Forever, released the reveal trailer after two years of development, and the link to the official Steam page. Killer Bean, according to the developer on the game’s Steam page is a 1st person and 3rd person open-world roguelike shooter with a procedurally generated world and story. You play as Killer Bean, a rouge assassin who “takes out the trash in the world.”  With the world and story being procedurally generated, every time you start a new campaign, the world changes.

The synopsis of Killer Bean is, “After being betrayed by the Shadow Agency and learning the truth about their evil ways, Killer Bean has made it his life goal to destroy them. Yet this is easier said than done, as Killer Bean will face armies of enemies, and mysterious Shadow Beans who are better trained and more powerful than him.”  With the game being procedurally generated not only does the world change, the story changes, so do the characters, bosses, and missions.  Characters that you consider friends, may turn on you, and the same can be said for the enemies you fight, who may end up helping.  That’s the fun part about procedurally generated gameplay, every playthrough is always going to be different.

Some of the key features that are shown in the gameplay trailer are fully drivable vehicles, including motorcycles and jets, a free-roam world with other characters (or Beans) roaming about, different factions, lots of weapons, and most notably a character creation where you can customize your character.

According to the developer Real_KillerBean, they’re looking to aim for a Steam Early Access release sometime in Feburary or March when asked by one commentor.  When asked about a port to all major consoles like the Xbox, PlayStation 5, and Switch, a port will happen when the game goes through early access.  In the comments of the reveal trailer on Youtube, the developer also answers some questions like the price of the game at launch, which will be $20.

You can wishlist Killer Bean now on Steam.
