Some exciting news has been announced today by The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo, that the powerful and Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza will be joining the Legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre in the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The mysterious Dragon and Flying-type Pokémon, that has been a fan favorite is said to have come down to the planet’s surface when Groudon and Kyogre clash. Mega Evolution gets closer to answering as it seems that Rayquaza might be somehow related to the mystery behind it. Along with the trailer that Rayquaza debuted in, you will also get to see the true powers behind Groudon Kyogre, plus also get to see Mega Camerupt, Mega Sharpedo, and Mega Gallade. You will be able to get your hands on Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire on November 28th for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS systems.
In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, players will get to experience the powerful Primal Reversion of Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre. Along with this power that both Legendary Pokémon has gained, they also received an ability that only can be possessed in their Primal Reversion form, which includes weather changing abilities like Desolate Land, and Primordial Sea.
Primal Groudon has the ability, Desolate Land, which changing the weather in the battle to a scorching sunlight, with this in effect, the opponents Pokémon will be unable to change the weather conditions with moves like Rain Dance, Sunny Day, etc. and they will all fail, especially water-type attacks will fizzle out. Along with the ability to making the it scorching hot, Primal Groudon can use a move, Precipice Blades, which allows it to hit multiple opponents with a powerful upward surge of sharp rocks.
Though of course, Primal Groudon isn’t the only one to have the weather changing ability, Primal Kyogre has an ability known as Primordial Seas, which allows the battle to have a heavy rain that can’t be changed from abilities like Sand Stream, Snow Warning, plus Fire-type moves become ineffective. Primal Kyogre can use a move known as Origin Pulse, which also allows it to attack multiple opponents, but with a slam of water massed into ballistic orbs.
Both Teams, Team Magma and Team Aqua battle with Mega-Evolved Pokémon, which you will get to see in the new trailer and also the image below. For Maxie, who is the leader of Team Magma, the goal that has been made for the team has them seeking a world ideal for humanity. “The organisation wishes to increase the landmass on the planet, adding to it so humanity can labour to achieve greater evolution and development. Team Magma thinks labouring for the equal coexistence of humanity and Pokémon is foolish and only holds back humanity’s progress.”
During battles you will get to face against Maxie’s Fire and Ground-type Pokémon Camerupt, which can be Mega Evolved into Mega Camerupt. Originally in Pokémon X/Y, in order to Mega Evolve you needed the bracelet plus the Key Stone needed to Mega Evolve the Pokémon, but with Maxie, he wears a pair of Mega Glasses that allows for the same ability. Once becoming Mega Camerupt, it gains the ability called Sheer Force, which raises the power of all attacking moves that have an additional effect. “But beware—the additional effects are ignored. Most of Mega Camerupt’s base stats are uniformly raised, but its Speed drops. It’s best to think of strategies where Mega Camerupt can be used as the second act in battle.”
While Team Magma has one mission, Team Aqua, who is led by Archie, has a completely different mission, which involves increasing the size of the oceans in order to bring back the habitats lost to Pokémon due to the greed that humanity has brought. “Team Aqua believes the ocean is the font of all life, and by restoring it, its members think that they can re-create an ideal home for Pokémon.”
In battle with Archie, players will get to fight against his Water and Dark-type Pokémon Sharpedo, which can Mega Evolve into Mega Sharpedo. Archie also changes up the accessory in what reacts with the mysterious Key Stones needed to Mega Evolve, which he wears the Mega Anchor. Mega Sharpedo will get stat boosts along with its Attack being enhanced even more. “Mega Sharpedo also gains the Strong Jaw Ability, which raises the power of bite attacks like Crunch.”
Remember the young Trainer named Wally from Petalburg City? Well this young trainer chose his first Pokémon to be a Ralts that he caught, which later evolves into Kirlia and then Gallade, and finally when used with the Key Stones needed to Mega Evolve, it will become a Mega Gallade. Mega Gallade changes their Ability to Inner Focus, which allows Mega Gallade to not flinch during battle, it also improves its Attack and Speed states, and this allows Mega Gallade to be an effective first-strike Pokémon.
