The beginning of the end has arrived. A new war wages on in space. Ahead of its release, Bungie Inc has released a new launch trailer for upcoming expansion coming to Destiny 2 titled, Destiny 2: Lightfall.
Destiny 2: Lightfall will feature a new story to the game. A cosmic force of darkness known as the Witness has arrived to proclaim itself ruler of all. Despite this entity promising salvation to all those who surrender themselves to itself, the Guardians have no interest in yielding to the Witness. It has made its way to the city of Neomuna, which is located on Neptune. It is said a weapon that was hidden by the Cloud Striders is powerful enough to stop the Witness and its disciples. Following the events from The Witch Queen expansion, after Calus was exiled by his daughter Caiatl, he met the Witness and formed an allegiance with him. He now has an army that is coming to Neomuna in his Shadow Legion. And now, the Shadow Legion approaches with its armies and the Guardians now must face off. With this new threat, a new alliance was also born. Caiatl, Calus daughter and now new leader of the Cabal has agreed to ally with the Vanguard and protect their people from the threats from her dad and the Witness.
A new mode will be added to the game. Similar to The Witch Queen, a challenging difficult level will be added to single player. Upon completion, players will find themselves rewarded with a complete set of armor, perfect for taking down the enemy with.
Destiny 2 is available for PlayStation 4 & 5, Xbox one & Series X|S and PC via Steam and Epic Game. Destiny 2: Lightfall is still available for pre-order and will be released February 28, 2023.
