Larian Studios Teams Up With Lynnvander Studios To Kickstart Divinity: Original Sin The Board Game

Fans of the Divinity series might be happy to hear that the action RPG is coming to the tabletop. According to Polygon, the developer behind the Divinity games, Larian Studios has teamed up with Lynnvander Studios for Kickstarter campaign in order to create the tabletop game Divinity: Original Sin The Board Game. The game promises to expand the Divinity Original Sin universe by adding new stories, side quests, and multiple paths players can choose from.

As of the moment of writing this, the Kickstarter campaign has already reached its funding goal and is currently at $414,860, well over its initial goal of $160,000. Divinity: Original Sin The Board Game uses the Chronicle System to create branching narratives that will affect not just the players, but the fate of the Divnity Original Sin universe. The Kickstarter campaign has three different pledge options and each comes with their own set of benefits.

The Standard Edition will net donors 4 Origin Story Characters, each with their own miniature, as well as two entirely new official additions to the Divinity Universe, one game board, four-player boards, one boss board, four-player health trackers, 16 dice, 847 cards, 102 skills, 100 items, 4o standard enemies, eight bosses, 270 tokens, a 40 page rule book, and a 120 page encounter book. The Premium Edition will give donors all the benefits of the Standard Edition as well as, miniatures for all eight bosses, a metal coin set, 16 extra dice, and two bags made of sheepskin leather. The Extended Edition will grant players all the benefits of the Premium Edition as well as two Side Quest Boxes.

The Kickstarter Campaign also has a few Stretch goals that it has already reached. Since the campaign has gone past $400,000 the game will include several additional features. The first Stretch Goal reward at $250,000 is the addition of two new playable characters Sebille and Fane who each have their own cards and quests. The next addition at $300,000 is the alternate clock hand known as the Lady Vengeance Clock. The final two additions are miniatures for the Incarnate and Bone Widow summons at $350,000 and the addition of another two playable characters Tanguistal and Loholt. The game is available for pre-order for $120, however the release date of the game is currently unknown. It is likely that more information will be released at a later date.
