When fans picked up Star Wars Battlefront many thought that the game felt a tad bit anemic. However slowly since launch EA and developer DICE have been adding more content to the game with the most recent entry, out June 21st for season pass holders, adding Bespin and Lando Calrissian to the mix. According to the Battlefront website, the DLC adds five maps all set in Bespin including iconic movie locations like the Administrator’s Palace and the Carbon-Freezing Chambers. As well as Bioniip Labs, from Star Wars Legends, a lab “where cybernetics and other bio-implants are manufactured”.
The DLC also adds more heroes and villains to the fray with the aforementioned Lando and another bounty hunter named Dengar. You’d be forgiven for not knowing who Dengar is since his contribution to the main franchise kinda begins and ends with this picture from Wookiepedia.
Players will get two new blasters to play with while in Cloud City: the X8 Night Sniper and the EE4. The X8 Night Sniper is a blaster pistol with middling stats, but what makes it special is that it’s equipped with a long range heat vision scope. The EE4 on the other hand is the exact opposite, designed with a short barrel it is more effective at close range with its high rate of fire. Players can try out these weapons in the new game mode Sabotage where players on the Empire side are tasked with powering generators, preventing the Rebel’s escape, and the Rebels are trying to sabotage their plan.
The Bespin expansion comes with a new Cloud Car vehicle and three new Star Cards: Scout Binoculars, Shock Grenade, and Disruption. The Scout Binoculars reveal enemy locations for the entire team. Shock Grenades stun enemies and Disruption knocks out enemy electronics including droids, blasters, and turrets.
The Bespin DLC will be out on June 21st for season pass holders and July 5th for all other players.
